The Night After I Kicked It (2009)
“The Night After I Kicked It” is a visual music work. The music and animation were composed simultaneously to create a cohesive, tightly synchronized piece. There is no narrative, rather both elements of the composition influence each other to create the structure and movement of the work. Within the animation the use of color, image placement on screen and the matching of images to sounds is used to create a type of associative synaesthesia.
It’s Elementary (2009)
“It’s Elementary” is an abstract piece of visual music inspired by the work of John Whitney. The role of the visuals is to follow the structure of the music, to correspond with the intensity found in the score, and to map the rhythms of the individual instruments and to reflect the range of the instrumental pitch content.
